Living Paper Museum, Nizhny Novgorod
About museum
There is no equivalent to this project on today’s market. In the museum all artificial items are handmade by Nizhny Novgorod artisans Elena Sashina and Natalia Golubeva using the papier-mâché technique, which, translated from French, means “crumpled paper.” This material is easy to shape and allows the creation of anything — from the simplest to the most complex forms. The artists, known for their unconventional approach to creativity, have been delighting clients for several years; their works have reached across oceans. In the museum’s fairy-tale space creative events are held, and a Papier-Mâché School operates where you can take part in individual or group master classes. The museum features themed installations, original works, and the opportunity to learn papier-mâché. It captivates both adults and children.
