Vladivostok Fortress Museum-Reserve
About museum
In 2019 the Vladivostok Fortress Museum-Reserve was established. In the Vladivostok Fortress visitor center, visitors can learn about the fortification structures, discover the fates of the people involved in building the fortress, and gain an understanding of the scale of the defensive complex. Here you can see weapons, awards, documents, letters and photographs, as well as a video installation. The museum-reserve's purpose is the preservation and study of the heritage of the Vladivostok Fortress, and to provide visitors with information about this historical and architectural monument. To form a collection that reflects the fortress's history, the museum collects biographies of individual people, their personal belongings, documents and archives, as well as government acts, decrees, maps, drawings and examples of armament. The Vladivostok Fortress includes 5 forts, 7 strongpoints, 20 land batteries and 23 coastal batteries.
