\r\nThe city of Stavropol can be proud of the Great Patriotic War Museum 1941–1945 'Memory', located in the city's historic zone. This institution was established in 1990 by WWII veterans and searchers from Vocational School No. 18, and in 2000 it received the status of a municipal cultural institution. The museum houses more than 6,000 exhibits dedicated to the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War. Special attention is given to items that recall significant figures from the history of the Great Patriotic War, as well as Stavropol residents who took part in the war. The museum conducts about 640 tours and lectures per year for 18,000 visitors, among whom are WWII veterans, students, schoolchildren, servicemen, residents and guests of the city and region.
