Museum of Unique Dolls
About museum
In 1996 the Museum of Unique Dolls was opened; it houses about 6,000 exhibits representing the history and traditions of childhood. The collection includes dolls from the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as a 17th-century Infant Jesus and dolls from the USSR. In addition, visitors can see antique doll tableware, equipment, furniture and even entire dollhouses. The permanent exhibition hall displays several hundred antique dolls from different countries, all dressed in period costumes, as well as doll accessories, footwear, old photographs and other historical artifacts. The museum hosts lectures, master classes, guided tours, and temporary exhibitions showcasing the great manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution and the wholesome traditions of past centuries. The museum also displays more than 10 mechanical automaton dolls.
