Museum of Russian Gusli and Chinese Guqin
About museum
Due to the epidemiological situation, the Museum of Russian Gusli and Chinese Guqin is temporarily closed until February 12, 2020. It exhibits authentic instruments as well as pieces made by cultural expert Dmitry Paramonov and by master maker of ancient Chinese zithers (guqin) Se Jiandun. Here you can see copies of archaeological finds, gusli created based on historical depictions on icons, frescoes and religious texts, as well as reconstructions made from specimens found during ethnographic expeditions. In the museum, visitors can become acquainted with elements of the guqin, whose construction has not changed over the past thousand years. Thus, visitors can see an instrument that was the same as in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing eras.
