Museum of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation
About museum
The Museum of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation was opened in 2016.
The museum houses unique examples of uniforms, rank insignia and decorations, and other items of uniform clothing that illustrate the complex process of the development of the uniform costume of transport ministry officials in the 19th–20th centuries.
A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to departmental awards of the transport complex from 1934 to the present, including the current departmental awards of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. State awards of the USSR, the RSFSR and the Russian Federation, which were bestowed upon transport workers, occupy a special place. Lists of the names of industry workers who were awarded the titles 'Hero of the Soviet Union', 'Hero of Socialist Labour', 'Hero of the Russian Federation' and 'Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation' have been published.
The museum's exhibition features Bank of Russia coins, stamps and envelopes issued to mark significant events in the history of transport.
