Mammoth Museum of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
About museum
In 1991 a museum was established dedicated to the study of mammoth fauna and the Ice Age. Remarkable finds were discovered in Yakutia: Adams' mammoth, the carcass of a mammoth from the Berezovka River, the complete skeleton of the Churapcha rhinoceros, the skeleton of the Shandrin mammoth, a mammoth leg, the carcass of the Selerikan horse, and the Mylakhchin bison. All of these items became priceless exhibits in many Russian museums, and a complete mammoth skeleton was exhibited in Paris. They are dedicated to the history of a bygone era, allowing us to learn about animals that long ago vanished from the face of the Earth.
