A.V. Muravyov Museum of Merchant Household Life
About museum
The museum is located in an old mansion with a basement level, entresol rooms and a mezzanine. The house was built in 1897 and belonged to the merchant and timber industrialist Alexander Ivanovich Shishokin.
The former merchant's house houses household items from the late 19th — early 20th century: furniture, tableware, kitchen utensils, clothing and footwear, documents, books and money. The house preserves tiled Dutch stoves, an original three-color oak oak parquet floor and stucco on the ceilings. The museum's character is composite: the room interiors are reconstructed from authentic household items and furniture, many of which were donated to the museum by residents of the city of Kozmodemyansk.
