Museum of Intelligence Officer N.I. Kuznetsov
About museum
The Museum of Intelligence Officer N.I. Kuznetsov in the town of Talitsa existed as a people's museum from 1961 to 1978, after which it was incorporated into the Sverdlovsk Regional Local History Museum. In 2008 the museum was transferred to the Ural State Military-Historical Museum. The permanent exhibition is housed in the building of the Talitsa Forestry College, built in 1896, where the legendary intelligence officer studied from 1927 to 1929. The museum's collections include typical items of peasant household and village life from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Among the exhibits are N.I. Kuznetsov's personal belongings, items that belonged to his classmates, neighbors and friends, and to members of the 'Pobediteli' (Victors) detachment. The holdings include documentary sources, awards, and uniforms belonging to Ural residents who participated in the Great Patriotic War. Today the museum not only preserves the memory of the legendary intelligence officer but also carries out extensive work in patriotic education.
