Museum "Conspiratorial Apartment of the Simbirsk Group of the RSDLP"
About museum
In the Museum of the History of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party there is a historical-revolutionary monument - a house that in 1904–1906 was leased to Simbirsk social democrats for a conspiratorial apartment. The house belonged to V.I. Orlov, a small grocer. His son Vasily Orlov was one of the organizers and leaders of the Simbirsk group of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party. He and his friend V.V. Ryabikov created hiding places in the house for storing an illegal library, party documents and weapons. Such hiding places were built in the mezzanine, the banya (bathhouse), the woodshed, the outhouse and even in the garden.
