Museum of the History of the settlement Nizhnyaya Maktama
About museum
On November 12, 1998 the museum was opened, presenting the history of the settlement from ancient times to the present day. The exhibition is located in five rooms and includes various elements: archaeology, local nature, peasant tools, the history of collectivization, the Great Patriotic War, and the beginning of the 21st century. Special attention is drawn to peasant life, represented by unique exhibits: antique tableware, tools, household utensils, and furniture. The museum displays materials on events from 1930 to 1965, as well as works of folk art created by the women of Maktama. In the Hall of Military Glory exhibits dedicated to the Great Patriotic War are shown. The total volume of the museum's collections exceeds 2,000 items.
