Museum of the History of the City of Obninsk
About museum
The museum was opened in 1965 on the initiative of the public. Since 1967 it has been a state local history museum. The exhibition shows the history of the modern city of science, which was built on the basis of the secret Laboratory "B" of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (now the Physico-Energetic Institute). The exhibition also presents the history of the villages and settlements around the city, including the village of Belkino with an 18th-century manor, the Bugry hamlet – the dacha of the artist P. Konchalovsky – and others. Today the city includes 10 research institutes. By visiting the museum you can learn more about the history of this place.
