About museum
\r\nOn November 5, 1995 the Sovetsky District Local History Museum was opened; the experienced enthusiast-local historian and journalist Ensay Makarovich Ivanov was appointed its head. Over the years the museum moved from a small wooden building to the second floor of the former Sovetskaya Secondary School No. 1, and in 2006 it was named after E. M. Ivanov. The museum has seven departments: district history, ethnography, industrial culture, nature, history of enterprises and organisations of military glory, and peasant labour. The museum also hosts various exhibitions, events, and museum-educational programs. As of the end of 2020 the museum's collection comprises 4,278 storage units and 2,912 scientific auxiliary items. To develop the museum's cultural and educational activities, tours, history hours and creative workshops are held, as well as museum-educational programs.
