Anisim Pavlovich Shokurov

Anisim Pavlovich Shokurov – an archaeologist, Honored School Teacher of the Bashkir ASSR, recipient of the 'Excellence in Public Education' badge of the RSFSR. The scholar was born in the village of Nizhne‑Novo‑Kosteevo, Belebeevsky Uyezd, Ufa Governorate. He graduated from Ural State University in Sverdlovsk. From 1955 he led the survey team of the Bashkir Archaeological Expedition of the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. He discovered significant archaeological sites, including the Biktimirov archaeological complex, the Bishungarov kurgans, the Kakrykul settlement, the Kamyshin settlements, the Kushulev burial ground, Mullino, the Novokabanovskoye settlement, the Staromushtinskoye settlement, and the Staronagaevskie sites. The Oktyabr Museum was named after Shokurov.
