About museum

The museum was built for the 70th anniversary of M. Gareev’s birth. The opening took place on July 8, 1992. The museum’s exhibition in the village of Verkhneyarkeyevo is organized according to a thematic-chronological principle and is housed in two halls. Authentic documents, photographs, and the hero’s personal belongings are displayed here, telling the story of his life and activities.

The central exhibit is M. Gareev’s working study with his original belongings, recreating the home study from his Ufa apartment. They were donated to the museum by M. Gareev’s family. An An-2 aircraft was installed on the museum grounds in 2012. Anyone who wishes can enter the aircraft cabin, sit at the controls and in the passenger seats.

Today the museum actively cooperates with educational institutions. Staff carry out collection management, register cards in the state catalog, consult visitors, organize exhibitions, and hold events.
