Temyasovo Historical and Local Lore Museum
About museum
In the center of the village of Temyasovo, on a high northern bank of the Sakmara River, stands a two-story building built in 1896–1897 for the Burzyan-Tangaur Kantispolkom. In January–March 1919 members of the First Bashkir Government stayed there, and in February the First All-Bashkir Military Congress was held. The museum in Temyasovo was established in 1963 and in 1985, at the initiative of World War II veteran and local historian Barey Mirkhaydarovich Buranbaev, it was turned into a branch of the Bashkir State United Museum. On June 13, 1991 the museum was opened to visitors. It houses more than 3,000 items, including historical documents and photographs about the village of Temyasovo, as well as materials on the history of the Bashkir government and the autonomy of Bashkortostan. The museum also presents a rich and diverse ethnographic collection on the life and culture of the Trans-Ural region. The museum's holdings include documents, photographs, and rare books.
