Paranga Settlement Museum and Exhibition Center
About museum
\r\nIn 2008 the district council of deputies decided to restore the work of the museum. As a result, a museum and exhibition center was opened in a small room of the school building. Due to the limited space, all exhibits were placed in a single hall. Special attention was paid to military themes: displays were arranged dedicated to the Soviet period, the Great Patriotic War, Gainan Kurmashev, members of the anti-fascist underground organization, and the patriotic poet Mansur Gayazov. The display sections were devoted to a specific era or historical theme, and when moving from one to another the visitor experienced a magical journey through time. The second half of the room was devoted to the culture, domestic life, and religion of the peoples of the Paranginsky district. All materials were illustrated and systematized, which made them more accessible to teachers, students, and to lessons on the cultural history of the Mari peoples.
