About museum

The BSTU "Voenmech" Museum was opened in September 1980 and was granted university museum status in 1986 by Order No. 121 of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education dated 17.02.86. The first exhibitions were based on materials and personal archives of lecturers and staff members V. A. Mikeladze, V. I. Steshov, V. A. Teterin, V. K. Mikhailyuk, L. I. Smirnov and others. The museum was led by Associate Professor L. I. Smirnov, who served in a voluntary capacity. He contributed many valuable items to the museum, such as documents, historical artifacts, archives and other objects, making it an excellent place for education and research.
