About museum
The D. I. Mendeleev Museum-Archive attracts the attention of prominent politicians, scientists and ordinary people from around the world. It provides a comprehensive view of the period 1840–1900. In 1956 the museum was opened to visitors, and in the 1950s–1960s many publications of archival materials and biographies of the scientist were published. In the 1980s the building was reconstructed and expanded. Since then the museum has regularly updated its exhibitions, providing visitors with information about D. I. Mendeleev and his work. Each year the museum is visited by more than 15,000 people.
