About museum
The Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Alagir District is located in the very center of the town of Alagir, situated on the Federal Trans-Caucasus Highway. With the growing interest in tourism in our republic, our museum attracts more and more people, allowing us to expand the tasks and goals we set for ourselves. The district's rich history is connected with important milestones in the country's development, and the staff of MBUK MVK carry out active scientific, educational, and research work. Exhibitions and open-air displays have become a tradition. Expeditions are also organized to collect information and to record living history in remote and mountainous areas. The Museum and Exhibition Complex is named after the outstanding Ossetian educator, translator, and teacher Babu Kasaevich Zangiev. He built a hospital for patients with lung diseases in Tse and translated Russian and foreign classics into Ossetian.
