About museum
The Malmyzh Local History Museum, established in October 1920, is still located at 1 Chernyshevskogo Street. It houses extensive material on Malmyzh and the Malmyzh uyezd dating back to 1780, when the Imperial Decree of Catherine II was issued. The museum has 8 exhibition halls displaying monuments of history, material and spiritual culture, as well as information about contemporary life in the Malmyzh region. The museum also offers tours, consultations, meetings with war veterans, talks, exhibitions and museum lessons for schoolchildren. The museum serves not only as the main repository for historical artifacts but also as an educational institution.
