About museum
On April 24, 1990, the Memorial Museum-Apartment of the Honored Art Worker of Russia Moisey Spiridonovich Spiridonov was opened. The idea and organization of the museum's creation belonged to T. M. Senkevich (1914–2001), the eldest daughter of M. S. Spiridonov. It is located in Cheboksary on the second floor of the residential building on Urukov Street, where the artist lived and worked from 1966 to 1981. The museum preserves the setting of a three-room apartment with the personal belongings and works of art of Moisey Spiridonovich. Documents, photographs, and letters that testify to his tireless activity are also kept here. The museum hall displays unique examples of Chuvash folk embroidery, the study and promotion of which Moisey Spiridonovich devoted more than 40 years of his life.
