Memorial Museum of the Military and Labor Glory of the Kuznetsk Metallurgists

About museum

On May 8, 1985, a Memorial Complex was opened on Victory Square in memory of the labor and combat feats of the Kuznetsk metallurgists during the Great Patriotic War. The building's authors are sculptor D. I. Naroditsky and architect N. N. Milovidov. The Memorial Museum of the Military and Labor Glory of the Kuznetsk Metallurgists houses photographs of the deceased; their names are immortalized on the cast-iron plates of the memorial. In front of it stands the Eternal Flame, bordered by cast-iron plates inscribed with '1,418 days'. The museum displays about 4,000 exhibits: photographs, documents, soldiers' personal belongings, combat equipment, trophies, letters, and samples of military products from the Kuznetsk Metallurgical Plant. Thematic tours are regularly held, as well as searches for the names of all fallen metallurgists, preservation and collection of documentary materials, meetings, events, lectures, and interactive games that help preserve and instill a sense of patriotism.
