The house-museum of Nikolai Gavrilovich Slavyanov, the first memorial museum of a technical profile in Perm, was opened on September 14, 1988. It is located in a building constructed according to a design by N. G. Slavyanov himself, the inventor of arc welding of metals. The house's exhibition includes authentic memorial items that help to better understand and appreciate the significance of N. G. Slavyanov's inventions. In this museum you can see Slavyanov's 'stakan', a sample weld of eight ferrous and non-ferrous metals, which was awarded a diploma and a medal at the World's Fair in Chicago. You can also visit N. G. Slavyanov's study, the smelting furnace, the workshop, and other exhibits that allow a deeper understanding of and respect for the engineer's talent. The workshop and other exhibits allow a better understanding of and appreciation for the significance of N. G. Slavyanov's inventions.
