Kargopol Museum and Exhibition Center

\r\nThe building was constructed in 1904 and was transferred to the Kargopol Museum in July 2009. The museum currently houses exhibitions on folk art, exhibition spaces for children, and 8 to 10 temporary exhibitions. Various programs and events are also held here, including classes and workshops for children and adults. In June 2007 the museum received as a gift the personal library of Henrikh Pavlovich Gunn, donated by the writer's widow, Lidiya Ivanovna Iovleva. Henrikh Pavlovich Gunkin is an art historian, researcher, journalist and writer, known under the pseudonyms Gunn and Gennady Russky. In November 2009 the library was moved to the museum and exhibition center building. The library collection includes books on history, art, architecture, ethnography, folklore, philosophy and literary studies. A ramp has been installed on the premises for people with musculoskeletal disabilities and for wheelchair users.
