About museum

Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky's house-museum is located in Kaluga near the Oka River. Tsiolkovsky spent 29 years here and wrote many important works on aviation, astronautics, and other fields. The house was purchased in 1904 and had one living room. However, in 1908, due to a flood, repairs were necessary and a second floor was added, which housed a study and a workshop. Today all rooms of the house-museum have been restored to their original appearance and many exhibits belonged to Tsiolkovsky or his family. This museum is a national monument of history and culture and is intended to help people learn more about the life and work of the great scientist. It is one of the most important museums in Russia.
