About museum
The museum was organized in 1993 and officially opened on June 2, 1994. Its main purpose is the registration, collection and preservation of items of historical and cultural value. In addition, the museum is engaged in public outreach, scientific research and education. It is a bearer of the traditions, customs and way of life of the residents of the Kazachinsko-Lensky District. During its existence a large amount of material has been prepared, various collections have been assembled, and the registration, collection, storage and exhibition of exhibits have been organized. The museum displays more than 5,000 items that illustrate the nature and history of the district over the past 30,000 years. The museum's main holdings include archaeological collections; collections of orders and medals; collections of samovars, irons, clocks, porcelain and other items. The museum has permanent exhibitions on various themes: 'Russian life in the 19th – early 20th centuries', 'Evenks of the Kazachinsko-Lensky District', 'Wildlife of the Kazachinsko-Lensky District', 'Interior of the 1980s', 'BAM – the Road of Life'.
