About museum
The formation of the Gubkinsky Local History Museum's collections began in the late 1950s. The chief geologist of the KMA combine, Sergey Fedorovich Borisov, began collecting minerals and paleontological finds discovered during the development of the Lebedinsky quarry. In 1962 the NII KMA Museum was opened. In 1993 it was transformed into a local history museum. The museum's structure includes an exhibition hall, the halls 'Culture and Life of Peasants of the Late 19th – Early 20th Century', 'Nature of Our Region', 'History of the Exploration and Development of the KMA', 'History of the City' and the Hall of Military Glory. In 1995 a branch — the V. F. Raevsky Museum in the village of Bogoslovka — was opened, and in September 2012 a branch — the Museum of KMA History — was opened. From January 1, 2019, the admission ticket for adults is 50 rubles, with a guided tour 55 rubles; children enter free.
