Kadnikov Local History Museum
About museum
On February 6, 1986 the museum was opened, headed by A. N. Malginov. To acquaint visitors with the history of Kadnikov, intensive work was carried out to collect exhibits. On March 1, 1993 the museum was re-equipped and renamed the Kadnikov District Historical Museum. Today it is part of the Sokol District Museum and has more than 7,000 exhibits. It features both permanent displays and temporary exhibitions. For example, visitors can learn about the merchant class and its influence on the city's development, or about the Orthodox monasteries of the Zaozersky region. The museum also presents the history of the noble Zubov family and of the military airfield during the Great Patriotic War (World War II).
