Theatre Museum in Zaraysk
About museum
Zaraysk, in the Moscow Region, is the homeland of the Bakhrushin family. The ancestors of A. A. Bakhrushin lived here for more than two centuries. In 2002 the 1st Bakhrushin Charity Festival was held, after which fruitful and successful cooperation began between the museum and Zaraysk. The city administration and the council of deputies handed over the former gymnasium building to the museum to open a branch. The project was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The aim of the museum-theatre art center is to introduce the younger generation to the artistic values of cultural heritage, as well as to support small towns and their culture. Plans include temporary exhibitions, public outreach projects, educational programs, and support for Zaraysk's creative associations.
