Yekaterinoslav Historical and Local History Museum

\r\nOn July 1, 1988, a branch of the Amur Regional Museum of Local History named after G. S. Novikov-Daursky was opened in the Yekaterinoslav District – the Yekaterinoslav Historical and Local History Museum. The core of the museum's collections was formed by exhibits from the public museum of the Yekaterinoslav secondary school, founded and led by director Fyodor Filippovich Slutsky, a teacher-local historian and participant in the Great Patriotic War. On September 1, 1988, the museum welcomed its first visitors – veterans of the Great Patriotic War and school students. In 2003 the Yekaterinoslav Museum acquired legal-entity status and became a municipal cultural institution subordinate to the district. It features permanent exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition halls, as well as collections numbering over 12,000 storage units, including unique items and documents of notable residents of Oktyabrsky District.
