Don Local History Museum

About museum

The Don Local History Museum was founded in 1977 and, since 1990, has been a branch of the Stavropol State Museum named after G. N. Prozritelev. In 2007 it was transferred to Trunovsky District and received municipal museum status. The museum building was constructed in 1872, and the first exhibits were collected by the public. Today the museum holds over 7,500 items in its main collection, and the staff organize more than 20 exhibitions and 180 tours per year. For its achievements in 2014-2016, the museum was recognized as the best cultural institution among the rural settlements of Stavropol Krai and received a grant of 100,000 rubles from the Ministry of Culture. In 2022 the museum will turn 45 years old.
