Tsvetaeva's House
About museum
In Alexandrov, where the Tsvetaevas lived from 1915 to 1917, four installations present the history of the life and work of the sisters Marina and Anastasia Tsvetaeva during that period. The first hall, 'Everyday Life', displays authentic items that decorated the Tsvetaevas' home, including a samovar, tableware, a washstand, and a fire poker. A Russian stove with a patchwork quilt has also been reconstructed here. The second hall, 'Children', illustrates the story of the extraordinary gift given to A. I. Tsvetaeva's son on his fourth birthday. The third hall, 'All Russia', contains a bust of M. Tsvetaeva, an icon of A. Tsvetaeva, belongings of M. I. Tsvetaeva, a grand piano, and paintings by other Russian artists. The concluding installation, 'The Space of Poetry', presents an evocation of Marina Tsvetaeva's summer in Alexandrov, including walls covered with mirrors, a glass display table, and a dish with manuscripts.
