Ivan Ivanovich Morozov

Morozov Ivan Ivanovich was born on May 1, 1923, in the village of Pryamushka, Yelovsky District, Perm Oblast. He grew up in a large, underprivileged family and was the eldest of six children. He started school in the town of Votkinsk. From 1940 and during the war he worked at the Votkinsk military plant. From 1947 he worked as an educator in orphanages in Krasnokamsk and Penza. From 1949 to 1954 he studied at and graduated from the Penza Art School named after K. A. Savitsky, in the painting and pedagogical department.
He taught in Perm at School No. 96 (1954–1955 academic year), and from 1955 to 1962 at the Krasnokamsk Pulp and Paper Technical College. In 1962, at the newly opened House of Culture of Goznak, he began leading an art studio that five years later became a laureate of the All-Union Jubilee Festival in honor of the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution, and a year later was awarded the title People's Art Studio, becoming the only people's collective for fine arts in the region. From 1974 he was the director of the School of Arts.
He died in 2008. He was awarded the medal For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945, the Veteran of Labor honorary title, jubilee medals, and a long list of certificates and letters of appreciation.
