Domodedovo City Park of Culture and Recreation 'Yolochki'
About museum
In 1973 Ruslan Fedorov, head of the cultural department of the Domodedovo city executive committee, put forward the idea of creating a park of culture and recreation. It was supported by the chairman of the executive committee, Alexander Tretyakov, and won broad approval from the townspeople. The forest tract in the Yolochki neighborhood was cleared, and planned shrub cutting was carried out. Residents of Domodedovo, Komsomol activists and schoolchildren provided selfless assistance in this work. In spring 1974 the city park 'Yolochki' was opened. It included children's rides, boat-shaped swings, a concert platform, a dance veranda, a petting zoo, and a children's traffic police town (GAI). In 1980 and 1983 the park received VDNKh medals of the USSR. In 2004 the park was renovated, and in 2016 and 2017 it won prizes in local competitions. Today the 'Yolochki' park is one of the best parks in the Moscow Region.
