Local History Museum named after T. V. Velikorodova
About museum
In 1995 the Local History Museum of the Vata rural settlement was founded. Until 2000 it was located at the school and did not have official status; then it was merged with the local library and was called the Museum-Library of the Vata rural settlement. In 2008 the library was separated from the museum, and in 2011 the museum moved into the building of the Cultural and Educational Complex. In 2014 the museum was respectfully named after T. V. Velikorodova. The museum houses more than 8,000 household items of the inhabitants of Western Siberia: traditional embroidered towels (rushnyky), hand spindles, metalware, items of clothing, and coins of the 18th — early 20th centuries. The museum has two permanent exhibition halls and one temporary exhibition hall. It hosts exhibitions by artists and masters of decorative and applied arts, thematic meetings and lectures, arts-and-crafts master classes, and local-history reading sessions.
