The State Historical Museum of the Southern Urals is a unique place where you can learn about the region's history and feel its spirit. Here you can visit exhibitions, take part in interactive programs, view works of art and much more. For everyone interested in the region's history there is a lot to discover. The State Historical Museum of the Southern Urals is a unique place to get acquainted with the region's ancient and rich traditions. It was founded in 1923 and acquired its own building in 2006. The museum houses more than 300,000 items, over 10,000 square meters of exhibition space, more than 70 exhibitions annually, up to 220,000 visitors per year and more than 2 million visitors since opening. It also hosts annual international festivals, scientific conferences, and serves as a methodological and educational center for museum professionals of the Chelyabinsk Region.
