House Museum of the Sevastopol Underground
About museum
In Sevastopol, the House Museum of the Sevastopol Underground was opened. It was created in the house where, during the occupation of the city, Vasily Dmitrievich Revyakin — the leader of the Sevastopol underground — lived. The museum's exhibition consists of historical and memorial sections. In the historical hall visitors can see photographs, the personal belongings of underground members, diaries, the underground newspaper "For the Motherland", leaflets, and items of clothing. The memorial section recreates the interior of a residential house from 1942–1944, as well as emergency exits from the printing shop, hiding places and shelters, storerooms with weapons and a red flag. The exhibition allows visitors to imagine the life of the underground members behind German lines and to gain an understanding of the activities of the Communist underground organization.
