Zalarinsky District Local History Museum
About museum
In 2024 the Zalarinsky Museum will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its opening. It all began in the 1950s with the first history club organized at Zalarinskaya School No. 1. By order of the head of the district administration a local history museum was established, which later moved into the former 'Druzhba' cinema. Shortly afterwards a fire occurred and all the exhibits were destroyed. However, the museum was rebuilt and opened in the new House of Culture 'Rodnik' on October 14, 1994. Today the Zalarinsky Museum has two exhibition halls, which host 15 temporary exhibitions annually. The museum's collections hold almost 12,000 items in storage, distributed across various collections. Museum staff also study the history of the Zalarinsky district and conduct interactive tours and workshops for children. At the Zalarinsky Museum everyone will find something new and interesting.
