Central House of Aviation and Cosmonautics of DOSAAF Russia is the oldest open museum in Europe and Russia, founded in 1927. Here you can see exhibits from many different years, from the distant 1927 to the present day. The museum features models of almost all aircraft, unique mechanisms of flying vehicles, aircraft engines, documents, photographs, rocketry and rocket models, the first rocket engines, the first artificial Earth satellites and other relics. Also on display are the actual training cockpit of the Buran orbital spaceplane, the memorial study of Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin and the training cabin of the first space dog Laika. The museum offers guided tours and film screenings, evenings and exhibitions, and meetings with youth and veterans. Here you can learn about the history of national aviation and cosmonautics and feel the full power of these achievements.
