Akushinsky Local History Museum
О музее
In 2010 the Akushinsky Local History Museum, a branch of the National Museum of the Republic of Dagestan named after A. Taho-Godi, was opened. It exhibits more than 3,000 items distributed across various departments. Particularly notable is the paleontological collection, which includes fossil remains of an ancient marine reptile — an ichthyosaur. In addition, the museum presents a rich ethnographic collection featuring household items of Akusha residents, as well as very rare examples of decorative and applied arts. The museum displays unique samples of old Kaytag and Usishin embroidery, which are genuine sacred artifacts.
