\r\nThe Askiz Local History Museum named after N. F. Katanov is located in the village of Askiz in a two-story wooden building built in the second half of the 19th century. According to one version, this was previously the summer residence of Petr Ivanovich Kuznetsov, the mayor of Krasnoyarsk. At that time the resident was Innokentiy Ivanovich Karatanov, the father of a well-known artist. The museum presents local history and features the following sections: "Ethnography", "Scientist Nikolai Fedorovich Katanov", "History of the village of Askiz and Askiz District", "Hall of Military Glory". The study of the first Khakass scholar, Professor N. F. Katanov, displays biographical information and documents about his scientific work. The "History of the village of Askiz and Askiz District" exhibit includes materials from the museum's collection. "Ethnography" presents a fragment of a traditional Khakass yurt, and the "Hall of Military Glory" is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
