Hall of Military Glory, Chaplygin
About museum
In 2016 the exhibition hall "Center for the Military-Patriotic Education of Youth" — the Hall of Military Glory — was opened. It is located in 19th-century buildings that belonged to the wealthy Ranenburg merchant I. Kemenov. The exhibition in the Hall of Military Glory presents the history of Russian military glory and of the Chaplygin district, great commanders, military campaigns and battles, from the Battle of Kulikovo to the present day. On display are models of weapons from different eras, finds from the Great Patriotic War period, stories of Chaplygin residents who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War (World War II), Heroes of the Soviet Union and of Russia, and home-front workers. Also presented are the types, structure and symbols of the modern Russian armed forces. The hall allows visitors to immerse themselves in history and to feel patriotism and pride in Russia's military glory.
