Bridge Museum
About museum
At the Central Museum of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation a unique exhibition dedicated to bridges is displayed. One particularly outstanding example is a model of the span of a bridge across a ravine and the Verebye River, which was the tallest of the bridges on the St. Petersburg–Moscow Railway. Also on display is a model of a wooden bridge across the Volkhov River, which was acquired by the museum in 1851. It had a movable (draw) span system that remained in service for 40 years. Especially famous is the model of the construction of the bridge across the Yenisei River near the city of Krasnoyarsk. It was exhibited at the 1900 Paris World's Fair. The model shows the method used to construct the bridge and is built to a scale of 1:50. The Yenisei model, together with the model of the span across the Verebye River and the wooden Volkhov bridge, are presented at the Central Museum of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation.
