Vyborg United Museum-Reserve
About museum
Vyborg Castle is the only surviving medieval castle structure of the European type, founded in 1293 during the Third Swedish Crusade. St. Olaf's Tower is the city's landmark. The castle is a monument of history and architecture, and since 1960 has served as a museum. It houses local history exhibitions and also hosts temporary interactive, cultural and photographic exhibitions. Concerts, festivals and knightly tournaments take place on the Castle Island. Visitors can attend lectures, hold celebrations or participate in a medieval quest. For children there are cultural and educational programs in the museum's Children's Center and the Hall of Knights.
