About museum

\r\nThe East Siberian Museum of Microbiology of Irkutsk State University is a structural subdivision of the Biology and Soil Faculty of ISU, established in 1997 through the combined efforts of the staff of the Department of Microbiology of ISU and the Institute of Geochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and opened in 2002. The museum is intended to preserve the gene pool and accumulate rare microorganisms of scientific and industrial importance, as well as to support the university's teaching and educational activities, to conduct scientific research and public outreach.
