Military-Historical Museum "Zaytseva Gora"
About museum
On May 9, 1972, the Military-Historical Museum "Zaytseva Gora" was opened. In 1982 the exhibition was reorganized, and since 1995 an exhibition hall has been operating here. In the late 1990s a church-chapel dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy" was built at the museum, in memory of the soldiers who died here. The museum presents an exhibition that attests to the courage and heroism of thousands of Soviet soldiers and commanders in the battles for the Warsaw Highway. In this sector the Soviet troops changed hands several times until they achieved success in March 1943. More than 100,000 Soviet soldiers were killed in these battles.
