Baikal Zapovedny Visitor Center

About museum

Located on the grounds of the historic port of Tankhoy, the "Baikal Zapovedny" Visitor Center is part of the tourist infrastructure of the Baikal State Nature Reserve. It is the result of a national program to develop educational and ecological tourism and is a modern, well-equipped, world-class visitor center. It brings together facilities aimed at preserving Baikal's natural wealth and its historical and cultural heritage. The building is situated on the lakeshore and offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of the unique Lake Baikal. The first floor houses three main halls, while the second floor features a viewing platform and a café area. On the complex grounds you can visit the "Fisherman of Baikal" exhibition and the "Barguzin Sable" enclosure complex.
