Vershino-Teysky Municipal Museum of History and Local Lore
About museum
In 1974 a history and local lore museum was founded in the Vershino-Tey municipal district. The founder and first director was Babeshko Mikhail Alexandrovich, and the taxidermist was Sokol Yuri Viktorovich. They were both exhibition designers. The museum has five halls: 'Geology', 'Flora and Fauna', 'History', 'Old Life — Russian izba and Khakas yurt', and 'Winter', and in 2022 an exhibition hall was opened. The museum's collection comprises 7,519 exhibits. It plays an important role in the life of the settlement: lessons in history, biology and geography are held, as well as themed evenings and meetings with interesting people. In addition, the museum hosts children's exhibitions and the 'Night at the Museum' event, and offers intellectual games. Five educational programs are provided for school pupils and children from the kindergarten.
