Veliky Ustyug State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve is a multidisciplinary museum complex that includes 15 architectural monuments of regional significance. Particularly valuable are the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and of Saint Procopius the Righteous, the Trinity Cathedral of the Trinity-Gleden Monastery, the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael of the Mikhaylo-Arkhangelsky Monastery, and the churches of the Ascension, Simeon the Stylite, and Demetrius of Thessaloniki. The museum-reserve comprises six museums: the Museum of the History and Culture of Veliky Ustyug, the Museum of Ethnography, the Museum of Old Russian Art, the Nature Museum, the Museum of New Year and Christmas Toys, and the Children's Museum Center, as well as an open-storage repository. The site offers not only classic tours but also interactive activities and master classes, which are consistently popular.
